So far I've tried the spinning class, total body blitz and a soulbounce class and all three have been fun and have left me feeling like I've had a good workout. As far as classes go there's a few to choose from. There's loads of weights too and everyone in the gym is friendly which really helps when you're intimidated by using the free weights. The equipment is great, there's a range of machines from basic stuff to more interesting ones like the summit and the assault bikes. It's so much better than the cheap chains because you're welcomed in warmly by everyone and if you need help there's always someone about who is willing to give you their time. The staff are all brilliant and they take time with you to show you the place and give you advice on what you can do during your workout. Fantastic experience: I've just joined after trialing the gym for a week and I'm really starting to feel at home here.

Kat was hardly a presence this season, and what we did get of her, kind of made us dislike her a little bit. Kat - Vivienne Westwood Portrait Corset HBO If you’re all about internet-y e-girl style, Faye checks all the boxes and last night in addition to rocking a hand-dyed graphic baby tee by Unif Clothing, she wore probably the best sneakers in the whole series’ run, the Nike Air More Uptempo ’96 Ray Guns.įez may be Euphoria’s streetwear king, but Faye is the Queen of Kicks.įind Faye’s Nike Air More Uptempos at aftermarket sites like StockX, find the anime baby tee at Unif Clothing. But we can’t let the Euphoria Style Watch go out with a whimper, what would Lexi say? So in addition to talking about this week’s best fits, we’re also going to be rounding up some of the season’s best fits from our style MVPs Fez and Maddy.įaye - Nike Uptempo’s And Anime Baby Tees HBOĪgainst all odds (she injected heroin between her legs while calling Rue a junky when we first met her) Faye really stole our hearts this season, and given the events of last night’s episode, we imagine she’s going to play a significant part in season three. Unfortunately, because last night’s episode was essentially a continuation of the previous week’s episode, we didn’t get a whole lot of new outfits. It’s a bittersweet goodbye but, whew - what a hell of an episode.Īfter a season that has at times felt disorganized and aimless, last night’s season finale saw the show finally stick the landing, and although season two leaves us with some lingering questions (are Cassie and Maddy cool? Why did we need to see Kat break up with Ethan? Is season 3 going to be a Nate Jacobs redemption arc? Is Laurie still after Rue? WHAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT OF ELLIOT!? Okay… so it left us with a lot of lingering questions) at least we got some closure between Rue and Jules and more importantly, Rue and Lexi. It’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to this season-long series, if you’ve been with us from the beginning, we’ll see you in three years (we’re assuming) when the new season of Euphoria finally airs. Gone are the days of suspenders and chokers, and with her new boyfriend Ethan in tow, Kat is one of the best-dressed on the series, often spotted in midi skirts, cropped cardigans, and flared pants.Welcome to the final edition of Euphoria Style Watch, your one-stop shop for the best outfits from Sunday night’s episode and where to find them. In season two, Kat goes through yet another style transformation. I’m not sure I know any teenager that could actually pull off the outfits she wears to school without getting detention, but we’re here to help you recreate her outfits nevertheless. One thing is for sure: season one Kat was not afraid of a fashion risk. We see her style shift to more rebellious and revealing clothing which often features harnesses, chokers and collars. She begins to explore her sexuality and completely revamps her wardrobe. When we first meet Kat in season one, it’s clear she’s not very comfortable in her own skin and appears to hide behind her clothes.Ī few episodes into the series and we see Kat go through a major style transformation. Heidi Bivens, the journalist-turned-stylist-turned-costume designer earned both Emmy and CDG Award nominations for her work on the show’s debut series and it’s safe to say she did not let us down in season two. Kat Hernandez, played by Barbie Ferreira, is the character with possibly the greatest style transformation throughout the two seasons. A post shared by euphoria already did a deep dive on how to emulate Cassie’s feminine and sweet style, and how to copy her best friend Maddy’s more edgy, vampy look. Essentially they put blinders on the LIDAR so they could only see straight ahead, where the Dragon was set to be berthed with the station.Įventually Dragon was given the go-ahead to proceed to the 30-meter point, and then to the 10-meter location where it would be captured by the station's robotic arm. Over the course of the next half hour, SpaceX engineers analyzed how to resolve the problem with the stray LIDAR signals, eventually deciding to narrow the view of the sensor. It turns out the laser used by the LIDAR was receiving stray reflections from the Japanese Kibo laboratory on the station. PDT the approach was resumed but just four minutes later SpaceX issued a retreat command, moving Dragon away from the ISS.ĭragon returned to 78 meters while a problem with the LIDAR was analyzed. But less than 20 minutes later Dragon was held at 78 meters as SpaceX made some changes to the spacecraft's LIDAR equipment. After checking the sensors again, Dragon was cleared to fly to the next hold point at 30 meters. PDT Dragon was once again on the move, this time to an unplanned position 150 meters from the station. The data provided by the thermal cameras was causing the engineers to further evaluate the sensor.ĭragon was sent to an unplanned hold position at 200 meters in hopes of giving the thermal sensors a chance to obtain better data on the position of Dragon relative to the ISS.īy 4:20 a.m. This information is then used by Dragon's guidance system as it approaches the ISS. The two different devices are used to independently measure the distance between the two spacecraft. Over the next half hour or so, the teams in Hawthorne and Houston were busy evaluating the data from the on-board sensors to make sure both the station and Dragon agreed on their relative positions before moving any closer, particularly inside the simply named "Keep Out Sphere" that surrounds the ISS at 200 meters.Īs time progressed, some questions were raised from the data being analyzed from Dragon's thermal image sensors and the on-board LIDAR (light detection and ranging) sensors. After a few minutes the test resumed and Kuipers issued Dragon a hold command at 235 meters, but it happened a bit earlier than planned. Next Kuipers planned to send a command for Dragon to hold at 235 meters, but problems with Dragon's on-board thermal camera used for the rendezvous with the ISS kept it at the 250 meter point. Minutes later, with the Dragon 220 meters from the station, astronaut Kuipers sent a command via the UHF communications link and Dragon aborted its approach as expected and returned to the 250 meter hold position. PDT, with a short burst of the thrusters, Dragon again began approaching the ISS. Mark Coop, who had founded Keep Calm and Carry On Ltd in 2006, successfully applied for an EU trademark on the phrase. In August last year the story took another turn. Modern tastes dictate that these posters are available in green and blue, however, rather than in the bright pillar box red that originally united them. The craze also reignited interest in the two other posters that were produced at the same time and that, unlike ‘Keep Calm’, saw active use: ‘Freedom Is in Peril: Defend It With All Your Might’ and ‘Your Courage, Your Cheerfulness, Your Resolution Will Bring Us Victory’. And it’s been spoofed and parodied many times over (‘Keep Calm and Have a Cupcake’), often with the crown device substituted for a more fitting emblem. Apparently, it is particularly popular in the US and Germany, with financial firms and advertising agencies. The phrase has since become an industry in itself with ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ products being bought and sold all over the world. It now brings up a cool 42m hits on Google. In this wave of interest in the phrase, it soon relocated to mugs, mouse mats, T-shirts and beyond. The subsequent increase in demand for the poster broke the shop’s website, says Manley, and the staff were immediately put on packing duties. As more and more customers enquired about obtaining a copy, the Manleys printed up an initial batch of 500, and had sold a few thousand before the poster was featured in a Guardian supplement in December 2005. Admiring the bold red and white design – the only graphic concession is a George VI crown above the text – they framed the poster and hung it by the shop’s till. Stuart Manley, who runs Barter Books with his wife Mary, discovered it folded up at the bottom of a box of books they had recently bought from auction. With only a few rare copies in existence, the phrase effectively remained unknown for 60 years, until an original of the poster was discovered in a bookshop in Alnwick, Northumberland in 2000. It was kept in reserve only to be used if the country was invaded – after the war the entire series of posters was pulped. Yet despite being printed by the Government’s Ministry of Information on around 2.5m posters in August 1939, ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ was never actually seen in public, according to research conducted by historian Dr Rebecca Lewis. In part, this is due to the nostalgic appeal of its stiff-upper-lip sentiment, delivered in clipped alliterative RP, but the timing of its reappearance as a recession loomed could not have been bettered. Similarly resonant, ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ has now perhaps become the most famous of the lot. ‘Dig for Victory’, ‘Careless Talk Costs Lives’, ‘Make Do and Mend’ have become classics of the medium, the latter gaining a new relevance in these frugal times. Undoubtedly the most poignant of any wartime poster in British history, it has recently also become one of the most iconic motivational themes of all time and is consequently increasingly sought after.A handful of British second world war propaganda posters employed slogans that are still well known today. They remain incredibly rare with under forty known examples in the world. There were believed to be only two survivors until a stash of fifteen appeared on the BBC Antiques Roadshow in 2012 and six more appeared from another significant estate find of a hoard of wartime posters in 2014. It was almost completely forgotten until one was rediscovered in 2000 by the owner of a bookshop, whereupon the design became the centre of a worldwide marketing phenomenon, appearing on everything from mugs to T-shirts. Thankfully this never happened and, like all paper in the 1940's, stocks were taken from storage, pulped and recycled in the austerity years after the war. This design was printed in secret and intended for distribution only if the Germans landed on British soil. This is a very rare and important piece of British history, printed in 1939 when the threat of invasion by the all conquering Nazis was a very real possibility.
